Platform Efficiency Blueprint

Know what is slowing your engineering team down, what needs fixing first and what the work will take.

For technology businesses running Kubernetes or comparable cloud platforms without a dedicated team responsible for the whole system. KubeCounty investigates the causes behind slow releases, rising infrastructure costs, recurring incidents and unclear ownership, then gives you a practical, costed plan.

Tell us what your team is experiencing. You do not need to know the technical cause before you enquire.

You know something needs attention. Let us help you work out where to begin.

If your business depends on software, a platform problem rarely arrives with a neat label.

You may see releases taking longer, cloud costs increasing, incidents becoming more frequent, or engineers spending too much time keeping systems running. Critical knowledge may sit with one person, while leadership is asked to approve technical work without a clear picture of what the investment will solve.

This happens across businesses that rely on digital products and always-on services. It may be a fintech preparing for a compliance requirement, a SaaS company supporting more customers, an e-commerce business approaching peak traffic, or an established organisation trying to understand an inherited platform.

I’m Malchiel, founder of KubeCounty. We help engineering teams understand and improve the infrastructure and systems their products depend on.

The first step is a free Infrastructure Health Call. We will listen to what your team is experiencing, understand the decision in front of you and help determine whether the Platform Efficiency Blueprint is the right starting point.

If you already know that you need a build or migration, tell us that too. We can discuss the defined project directly.

Use the button below to tell us what is happening. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis.

Built for businesses where platform performance affects customers, revenue or operational confidence

The Platform Efficiency Blueprint is industry-agnostic and designed for organisations running Kubernetes that want to audit, improve or plan the next phase of their platform, whether it is owned by a dedicated platform team, an overstretched team or engineers balancing platform work with other responsibilities.

FinTech and Payments

For teams balancing transaction reliability, security controls, compliance readiness, rapid product delivery and the cost of keeping critical services available.

SaaS and Technology

For product companies managing customer growth, shared infrastructure, developer productivity, multi-tenant reliability and the need to release improvements without adding unnecessary platform weight.

E-commerce and Marketplaces

For businesses preparing for traffic peaks, protecting checkout and payment journeys, scaling customer-facing services and reducing the risk attached to frequent releases.

HealthTech and Digital Health

For teams handling sensitive workloads where access control, service availability, operational visibility and readiness for customer or regulatory scrutiny matter.

Media, Streaming and Online Platforms

For platforms with bursty demand, high-volume workloads or expensive compute requirements that need stronger capacity planning, reliability and cost control.

Logistics, Mobility and Travel

For businesses relying on real-time services, distributed integrations and continuously available customer or operational systems across locations.

Energy, Industrial and Manufacturing

For organisations connecting cloud, on-premises or edge environments where monitoring, resilience, controlled change and clear operating ownership are essential.

Enterprise and Regulated Digital Services

For organisations carrying inherited systems, multiple environments, compliance obligations or fragmented ownership and needing one evidence-based view before approving further work.

The common factor is a platform that has become difficult to understand, operate or plan around, especially when a launch, cost review, incident, compliance requirement, leadership change or transfer of responsibility makes the decision urgent.

What we examine and why it matters

01

Infrastructure cost and waste

We compare spending with actual operating needs so leadership can see where money is supporting the product and where capacity, tooling or architecture may be creating avoidable cost.

02

Reliability and incident exposure

We examine the conditions that affect availability, recovery and operational confidence, then identify the issues that deserve priority.

03

Release and delivery workflow

We follow the route from writing code to production to see where engineers wait, repeat work, depend on manual intervention or lose time to platform concerns.

04

Security and compliance readiness

We assess the controls and operating practices included in the agreed scope, highlighting gaps that could affect customer requirements, internal policy or compliance readiness.

05

Scalability and architecture

We look at whether the current platform can support expected demand and where accumulated decisions are making the system harder to change or scale.

06

Ownership and operability

We identify where responsibility is unclear, where knowledge is concentrated and what the team should be able to operate confidently after the recommended work is completed.

How the Blueprint works and what you receive

STEP 1

Establish the current state

We agree the scope, review the available records and speak with the people closest to the work.

You receiveA current-state architecture diagram showing the systems included in the assessment and how they connect.

STEP 2

Examine the evidence

We review the platform, operating context and delivery workflow.

You receiveA prioritised findings report, a measurement of the route from code to production and a baseline of current infrastructure cost.

STEP 3

Decide what should happen first

We connect each verified issue to its business consequence, likely effort and recommended action.

You receiveA costed implementation plan showing the sequence of work, what your team can carry and where specialist delivery is needed.

STEP 4

Make the next decision

The engagement ends with a 90-minute leadership readout. We explain the findings, answer questions and establish the next decision, whether your team implements the plan internally or commissions further support.

The Blueprint normally takes two to four weeks. The work is remote and uses named, read-only access within the agreed scope.

Senior technical judgement carried from investigation to implementation decision

KubeCounty approaches the platform as one operating responsibility. Its Thin Platform Method connects technical evidence to engineering effort, business risk, cost and ownership, giving technical teams and decision-makers one basis for action.

The assessment is led by Malchiel Urias, founder of KubeCounty and a DevOps and platform engineer whose public work covers Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, platform security and developer self-service.

Malchiel has shared practical work supporting over 100 engineers and up to 100 services as a solo DevOps consultant, including reusable delivery systems that allowed engineering teams to work more independently. He has also mentored DevOps and DevSecOps engineers through KodeCamp and the CyberSafe Foundation.

His technical writing and education cover Kubernetes networking, secrets management, infrastructure as code, platform engineering and the decisions teams face when operating production systems.

KubeCounty gives you a usable plan whether the next phase is carried by your team or delivered with KubeCounty. Further implementation is a separate decision.

Common questions

Is the Blueprint the right starting point for us?

It is designed for an existing Kubernetes or comparable cloud platform that needs investigation before a significant decision. A technical contact, relevant read-only access and leadership participation are required.

What if we already know we need a build or migration?

Use the same enquiry form and explain what has already been decided. KubeCounty can discuss the defined project directly without requiring the Blueprint.

What access will KubeCounty need?

We request only the named, read-only access needed for the agreed scope. The exact systems and records are confirmed in the proposal, and a mutual NDA is put in place first.

What if our documentation is incomplete?

Share what is available. Missing diagrams, runbooks or incident records do not automatically prevent the work from starting and may become part of the findings.

Does the fee include implementation?

No. The Blueprint covers the investigation, findings, plan and leadership readout. Building, migration, remediation and ongoing support are separately scoped.

Is this a penetration test or compliance certification?

No. Relevant security and compliance-readiness concerns can be assessed within scope, but the Blueprint does not provide penetration testing, formal certification or compliance attestation.

Find out whether this is the right starting point

Tell us what your team is experiencing, the decision you need to make and whether a launch, incident, cost review, compliance requirement or ownership change is shaping the timing.

KubeCounty will review your enquiry and recommend the appropriate next step. You do not need to diagnose the technical cause before you contact us.
